Golf in the Press

The European Tour

moves to Dubai this week, for the Omega Dubai Desert Classic. Watch out for Thomas Bjorn, who showed incredible tenacity last week at Doha, starting with an awful 79, but following up with a 65. Rory McIlroy is coming in fresh after missing the Qutar Masters.

Pebble Beach

The big draw at Pebble Beach this week will be the resurgent Tiger Woods, but then he always is the big draw. Woods, making his first appearance at the tournament since 2002, is definitely finding his form again after his recent 3rd place at Abu Dhabi.

Paul Lawrie

Had a fantastic final day 65 to win the Qatar Masters last weekend. Lawrie’s amazing start to the season has seen him move to 47th in the world rankings, if he maintains a top 50 spot for the next month should earn him a place in the US Masters at Augusta in April.

Kyle Stanley

Won his first USPGA Tour title with a win at Arizona. The win was a perfect comeback for Stanley after he’d suffered a last hole collapse the previous week at the Farmers Insurance Open.
